What if you started a podcast and no one listened? One year later, we are celebrating new things for Just a Mom
It’s truly hard for me to believe I am writing one year to the day after the first three episodes of The Just A Mom podcast were released. I’m not going to lie–I was super nervous. What if no one listened? What if people posted horrible reviews? What if people attacked my family because of what I was doing?
Thankfully none of those things happened. Actually, it was quite the opposite. I received numerous texts, emails and social media messages thanking me for being transparent, open and honest with our story. People told me repeatedly that they needed to hear these messages, and they were encouraged by them and felt hopeful because of them. Many listeners wrote reviews and shared the podcast with someone they thought needed to hear that they are not alone and there is hope in this mental health journey.

Many listeners wrote reviews and shared the podcast with someone they thought needed to hear that they are not alone and there is hope in this mental health journey…that’s why Just a Mom is here…”
Because of the response, we felt a nudge (ok, more of a big push) to get these stories and resources to more people. What started as a small idea quickly blossomed into a big one. We believe that families across the globe need (and want!) to hear these messages and feel seen and supported when they are facing mental health issues.
I am excited to welcome you to the brand new Just A Mom website. Take some time to explore our origin story, blog posts and recommended resources. I think you will find something that will speak to you wherever you are in your journey. You will also find links to sign up for our email newsletter, inquire about having me speak to your group or organization, and even be a potential guest on The Just A Mom podcast.
I am excited (and yes, still a little nervous!) to continue to share stories of hope, healing, resources and encouragement with you.
